Alimak Hek – provider of rack-and-pinion elevators – has expanded its range of traction elevators for use in challenging industrial environments. In addition to the company’s existing traction elevator series for marine and offshore applications, the new series will include traction products for challenging industries including onshore oil and gas as well as heavy duty general industrial applications. The company now offers one of the world’s most comprehensive industrial elevator product portfolio with both traction and rack-and-pinion drive technology and a wide range of car sizes and capacities – for both non-hazardous and Ex environments.

The new Alimak traction elevator series – ALIMAK TR-H is designed and built to perform in the world’s harshest environments. The elevator will improve operational efficiency, give superior HSE performance and reduce maintenance costs in any industrial application. With surface treatment corrosion classification up to C5 and ingress protection rating up to IP65, the new elevators are made for the toughest environments on the planet.

Alimak TR-H complies with European Lift Directive 95/16/EC, EN 81-20/50, the American regulations ASME A17.1 Part 2, with additional local and project specific regulations on request.

The new Ex version – ALIMAK TR-H Ex gains trust from the company’s experience in delivering the first Ex elevator based on rack and pinion drive technology to the Kuwait National Petroleum Company in 1975. Alimak TR-H Ex range of elevators complies with ATEX regulations – offering protection in Zone 2, Gas group IIB and Temperature class T1–T3.

ALIMAK TR is engineered for straightforward industrial applications. The elevator also has surface treatment corrosion classification up to C5 and ingress protection rating up to IP54. Alimak TR elevators comply with EN 81-20 & ASME A17.1 Part 2.

This expansion will ensure that Alimak Hek engineers give the best advice to choose the perfect elevator technology for customer applications.

Alimak Hek’s in-house engineering department has vast experience based on the installation of over 22,000 rack and pinion elevator solutions. Many of which have unique applications but they are based on standard design parameters.. The development and production of all Alimak elevators is subject to a strict quality assurance management.

Alimak Hek´s installation teams are fully trained and competent to provide professional installations at high demand projects all over the world. Coupled with a regular regime of service and maintenance, the company will strive to provide customers with trouble free operations during the life of their elevator. The company’s global service and support network allows the customers’ traction and rack and pinion elevators to be maintained during the same site visit.

The modular design of the three new traction elevator series ALIMAK TR, TR-H & TR-H Ex provides several different car sizes within the standard range – meeting just about every transport need imaginable from 300 kg to 5,000 kg (660–11,020 pounds). Additional sizes and specifications can be provided on demand.

The elevator cars are made from durable materials including stainless steel, aluminium or painted steel with bumper rails and diamond plate flooring together with other options. Elevator doors can be manual or heavy-duty automatic with fire rated doors as an option. Robust industrial design gives the new elevators the ability to handle the toughest working environments from non-hazardous areas to Ex environments with temperatures of 0° to +50° C.

The new Alimak traction elevator ranges will be available for sale in most markets immediately.
