AMEC has been appointed by Nexen Petroleum UK Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CNOOC Limited, to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for their North Sea offshore assets. Nexen is a significant contributor to energy development in the UK.

The reimbursable contract will run for six years, with the option of two extensions, each for a further two years. It is estimated that 150 jobs will be created onshore and offshore to support the contract's operations.
