Tower Resources awarded new licence in Tanzania

An airborne gravity gradiometry survey in Uganda, performed by ARKeX on behalf of Tower Resources, has greatly improved structural definition within the Licence area. This has enabled improved focusing of a planned seismic programme with significant resulting cost saving.

The ARKeX BlueQube Gravity Gradiometry survey over Block EA5 north-west Uganda, has confirmed the presence of a deep potential source kitchen beyond earlier data coverage and has also shown previously undefined structures. The new insight into the area provided by gravity gradiometry, has allowed the planned seismic programme to be substantially refined. The 2D seismic acquisition can now be focused on the most prospective areas.

"ARKeX's Gravity Gradiometry survey has given Tower an invaluable data set that has not only given a new understanding of the geology in the area, but has helped focus our future exploration and in turn reduce planned seismic costs." said Peter Kingston, Tower Resources' Chairman.

Mike Lakin from Envoi, who are assisting Tower in finding a partner to further develop the block, commented, "The ARKeX survey has shown what an important and useful tool gravity gradiometry can be, especially in frontier areas. The East African Rift System holds great potential and gravity gradiometry is instrumental in helping to unlock it."
