The Artificial Lift Company Ltd. (ALC) has appointed Alexandre Kosmala as CEO.

Prior to his appointment at ALC, Kosmala worked at Schlumberger. His work assignments have taken him to North and South America, the North Sea, Asia and the Middle East. Most recently, he served as Completions Operations Managers for East Asia, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Kosmala has more than 20 years of experience working in various market segments within the oil and gas industry, including drilling and measurements, artificial lift, completions and production. He also worked across several functions: Line Management and Operations, Marketing, Business Development and Engineering.

"Artificial Lift was looking for the ideal CEO candidate who would bring deep artificial lift work experience, a passion for technology innovation and a desire to really build a strong company," said former ALC President Geoff Kimber-Smith. "Alex's experience and ambition make him a perfect fit to help the company to capitalize on the significant growth opportunities within the artificial lift space and expand into overseas markets."

Kosmala is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and speaks English, French, Spanish and German. He received a Master's degree in Aeronautical & Aerospace Engineering at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Diplome d'Ingenieur of Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Electricite et de Mecanique de Nancy.

Kosmala has had several papers appear in publications such as SPE Journal and APPEA Journal, and he has presented papers at ATCE and OTC. He holds over 10 patents and patent applications. He was awarded Hart's E&P Special Meritorious Award for Engineering Innovation in 2002 and 2004.
