Baker Hughes Incorporated announce that the international rig count for August 2014 was 1,339, down 43 from the 1,382 counted in July 2014, and up 72 from the 1,267 counted in August 2013. The international offshore rig count for August 2014 was 315, down 21 from the 336 counted in July 2014, and up 6 from the 309 counted in August 2013.

The average U.S. rig count for August 2014 was 1,904, up 28 from the 1,876 counted in July 2014, and up 123 from the 1,781 counted in August 2013. The average Canadian rig count for August 2014 was 399, up 49 from the 350 counted in July 2014, and up 31 from the 368 counted in August 2013.

The worldwide rig count for August 2014 was 3,642, up 34 from the 3,608 counted in July 2014, and up 226 from the 3,416 counted in August 2013.
