BJ Tubular Services has been awarded a contract by CNR International (Cote d’Ivoire) S.A.R.L. (“CNR”), a subsidiary of Canadian Natural Resources Limited, to provide a range of well services offshore Cote d’Ivoire, Africa. The 12-month contract provides for casing and tubing running, completion assembly and onshore bucking services for five well workovers, and one new well on CNR’s developments on Baobab and Espoir Fields.

BJ Tubular Services plans to commence operations in January 2008. All related services will be provided by dedicated personnel and state-of-the-art equipment based at the division’s facilities in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. The scope of work includes running chrome tubular completions from the semi-submersible rig Homer Ferrington in water depths to 4,000 feet. To achieve this, BJ crews will use its full Chromemaster™ minimal marking non-ferrous tubular handling package, which features the PS21 Flush-mounted Spider system with Chromemaster slips, Chromemaster power tongs, specially modified screen liner running tongs, Loadmaster™ single joint compensator system and the Dopemaster™ pipe compound applicator.

Onshore, BJ will carry out non-marking completion assembly (bucking) services on large diameter tubulars using the company’s transportable Series 2000 Bucking Unit with Chromemaster Jaws at its base in Abidjan.

BJ Tubular Services’ working relationship with CNR was cultivated while providing casing and tubing running services for all of CNR’s UK operations in the North Sea.
