Brinker Technology-2

UK-based Brinker Technology has highlighted its ambitious growth plans with the appointment of Kenny McAllister as vice president of sales and operations.

Joining Brinker from Halliburton where he was most recently senior account manager, Mr McAllister started his career working in research and development with ICI. With more than 16 years’ experience bringing new technology to the oil and gas industry through a variety of roles in sales, operations and general management, he has worked across the world spending time in Europe, Africa, FSU and the Middle East.

Mr McAllister brings to Brinker extensive knowledge of downhole and surface technologies together with expertise in new technology adoption and expansion. This new role will see him build Brinker’s sales and operations team, delivering the value promised to the industry by its Platelet Barrier Technology™, which provides an innovative solution to seal leaks in well systems allowing the operator to turn shut-in wells, or those operating under dispensation back to production without the need for costly workover.

“I am delighted to join Brinker at this exciting time and look forward to working with both the sales and operations teams,” said Mr McAllister. “Our technology is rewriting the rules regarding the time it takes to find and fix leaks, reducing associated risks and challenging previous assumptions about the viability of shut in wells.”

This latest announcement comes as Brinker sets out a growth strategy that will see the company relocate to a new headquarters in Aberdeen as well as developing its operations in the North Sea, Middle East and Far East, which is likely to offer in the region of 10 new positions globally in the next few months.

Brinker chief executive officer, Kevin Stewart added: “We welcome Kenny at an important time in Brinker’s progression. Our business has grown rapidly over the last year and we must now harness this as we embark on the next stage in our development. We firmly believe that the experience and knowledge that Kenny brings will enable us to further secure our position in the industry, as we continue to revolutionise the rigless thru-wellhead workover market.”

Brinker’s Platelet Barrier Technology deploys free-floating discreet particles called ‘Platelets®’ into a flowing system. The Platelets® are specifically engineered for the size of the leak and the operating conditions of the system. Suspended within an engineered fluid, the Platelets® are pumped downhole, through the wellhead, down the annulus, and on reaching the leak, pressure differential forces entrain them into the defect creating a permanent mechanical seal passing full well integrity testing and certification.

Platelets® provide a fully mobile, compact and permanent solution that has the capability to manage integrity issues across an entire field. Carried in a briefcase, so negating the large equipment footprint required by a standard workover, the technology can be deployed anywhere in the world and is virtually risk-free compared to other, rig-based intervention solutions that are complex, expensive and can take months of planning.
