C-MAR Group

Aberdeen head-quartered C-MAR Group has restructured its engineering division to capitalize on the increasing demand for more complex integrated engineering services in the global energy and marine markets.

The newly formed engineering division, to be launched at OTC, will be led by new chief operating officer, Dan Endersby. C-MAR Engineering will focus on three key areas: subsea and well control, classification and assurance and electrical and instrumentation (E+I).

A merchant navy engineering officer who has worked in Asia as a technical manager, Mr. Endersby has invaluable experience in the supervision of design, engineering, commissioning and sea trials for technically complex DP Class vessels, including drilling and construction vessels, cable lay ships, cruise liners, offshore supply vessels and anchor handlers.

He will be responsible for combining C-MAR's engineering services with their subsea and DP expertise to offer an integrated engineering service that focuses on sophisticated engineering solutions to the marine and energy industries.

In addition, James Stevenson has been appointed systems and services development officer. His role will be to continue the development of internal systems as well as playing a key part in introducing new services to the marketplace.

Promoted to senior subsea manager, Alan Forbes will be based in Aberdeen and is charged with the management of the subsea business within the new engineering division. Alan was previously employed at C-MAR as a subsea manager and has more than ten years experience in the marine, subsea and engineering sectors.

The E &I and classification and assurance team will be headed up by Russell Hodge, previously VP of technical services at the C-MAR owned DP Centre. He will be responsible for growing both areas of the business, promoting C-MAR's extensive capabilities in the marine and offshore industries. Mr. Hodge has over excess of thirty years experience within these specialist areas.

Commenting on the Group's more focused approach to engineering, Mr. Endersby said, "The harnessing of our group-wide engineering expertise and experience into one specialist division represents a step-change in our businesses. As a client focused and demand-led service provider, we recognize the need for thorough, single source vendor engineering solutions which are increasingly in demand as the global energy industry seeks out oil and gas reserves in more marginal and challenging fields.

"Our marine and subsea engineering divisions have always maintained a synergy of services, however, with a fully combined engineering service, we hope to deliver a more comprehensive, joined up and cost effective offering to our current clients and C-MAR's potential target markets."
