Carlton Resource Solutions, Aberdeen’s recruitment consultancy, has secured an exclusive contract to provide skilled professional personnel for engineering consultants XPD8 Solutions. The contract is believed to be worth a six-figure sum.

Carlton director Kevin Riley said this latest contract win illustrated the company’s expertise in sourcing highly qualified engineers and other professionals for the energy sector at a time when demand for talented professionals is increasing.

He added: “We are delighted to have secured exclusive rights to place experienced professional engineers across a number of disciplines within XPD8. Having identified last year that there would be significant opportunities in the maintenance sector, we are very happy that a market leading consultancy has recognised our pedigree and ability to deliver its engineering and management requirements for a large expansion plan here in Aberdeen.”

“What made this particularly exciting for us was that the business was won against two major international recruitment firms. This illustrates that local market knowledge, built up over 30 years in Carlton’s case, is seen as a key advantage to our clients. With the stable oil price and with projects being undertaken by operators both in the North Sea and overseas, demand for experienced personnel is growing significantly.”

XPD8 Solutions is an engineering consultancy that has recently undergone a management buyout (MBO) and is implementing growth plans for the foreseeable future that will place it at the forefront of the marketplace. It specialises in providing an efficient and cost effective asset maintenance management solution to its clients through its three main business areas of Maintenance Engineering, Condition Monitoring and Integrity Services and its reputation is based on a wealth of experience and technical excellence within these disciplines.

XPD8 Solutions’ finance director John Duncan said: “Carlton’s track record in the energy recruitment sector impressed us greatly and its Engineering and Technical team, headed by Daniel Hyland, was friendly, professional and immediately instilled us with the confidence that they would be able to deliver outstanding candidates to ensure XPD8 has the highest levels of skills and experience to service our clients. I have every confidence that Carlton will continue to source the best possible candidates as our business continues to grow.”

Carlton currently employs 27 people and has offices in Aberdeen and London. The company was established in 1981 and is a recognised local, national and international recruitment solutions provider. It provides high-calibre temporary contract and permanent staff across a broad range of disciplines including Accountancy and Finance, Commercial, Engineering and Technical, HR & Training, Industrial and Information Technology.

“We are excited to be working with a dynamic young company such as XPD8 Solutions. Aberdeen is still a world centre of expertise in oil and gas and we increasingly see the demand for talent from our clients stimulating the market and revitalising both the contractor sector and prompting growth in the number of staff positions,” said Mr Riley.
