ClerkMaxwell

Eengineering and design consultancy ClerkMaxwell has secured contracts worth more than £5 million in the past four months.

The Aberdeen-based company, which has just celebrated its first birthday, is also looking to more than double its workforce, with plans to recruit at least 60 staff in the next year for projects in the North Sea and around the world.

The company has already increased office space at its Salvesen Tower HQ to cope with the projected growth. ClerkMaxwell currently employs 40 staff with a range of technical and development skills encompassing both topsides and subsea disciplines.

ClerkMaxwell has agreed engineering support services contracts with a number of major operators including Chevron North Sea Limited, CNR International, Petro Canada UK Ltd, GDF Suez E&P UK and Talisman Vietnam Limited.

ClerkMaxwell Managing Director John Wilson, Subsea & Pipelines Director Guy Cook, Technical Director Satnam Shoker, Projects Director Sean Close and Executive Officer Alistair Dornan, who between them have more than 100 years’ engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, have been the driving force behind the company’s success during a challenging time for the oil and gas industry.

John Wilson believes the level of expertise among its senior team and staff, and the company’s approach to meeting client needs, has led to a successful first year, despite economic conditions.

ClerkMaxwell’s business model of working more closely with the design contractor and the client from the outset has proved to be attractive in the marketplace and the company is confident of winning more business as a result in the next few months.

Managing Director John Wilson said: “We’ve achieved so much in our first year in what has been a testing time for the oil and gas sector. I believe this has been possible due to the experienced team which has been put together at ClerkMaxwell.
