Activa Resources AG announces that its US subsidiary Activa Resources, Ltd. continues to build its production base and is pleased to provide the following results.
Geneva Prospect, Schleicher County, Texas: the Bruton 27 No.1H, the first well in the Geneva prospect, has been successfully drilled to a depth of 8,075 feet. As planned, a 3,300 ft. lateral section was drilled within the Ellenberger formation. The well has been put on production at approx. 350 – 500 MCFGPD. The well will possibly be fractured to increase production. Activa’s working interest is 12.5%.
Broyles No. 1 Offset in Colorado County, Texas: This single well has been successfully drilled to a depth of 7,100 feet. The well test in the Yegua sand at the base of the wellbore was positive with flow rates of 270 MCFGD. 3 additional pay sands have been identified behind pipe. The results are in line with the company’s expectations and production facilities are currently being installed and gas sales are expected to commence in the next 2 weeks. After production from the Yegua is stabilised it is anticipated that another zone will be added to increase the daily production rate. Activa’s working interest is 20 %.
Hinyard Heirs Prospect, Pecos County, Texas: two existing wellbores have been re-entered in order to test the Pennsylvanian and Wolfcamp Lime formations which had not been tested by the previous operator. The first well, the Hinyard Heirs 549 No.1 was not successful (Activa invested approximately $ 80,000), the second well, the 549 No.2 successfully tested a small zone at the base of the well bore at approximately 40 MCFGPD from the Pennsylvanian formation which is economic. A workover rig is scheduled to test the primary target zone, the Wolfcamp, in the coming weeks. Activa’s working interest is 15%.
Mongoose Prospect, Gonzales County, Texas: the first well in this prospect, the Elvis Stulting #1 well has been drilled to a depth of 6,583 feet to evaluate the Navarro sands at a step out location in another fault block to the known productive limits of the Navarro sand in the area. The well encountered the Navarro sand and is being evaluated for its potential. The well was also prospective in the Wilcox but that zone was not present at the location. A second well is scheduled for late April in the main fault block for the Navarro sand. Activa’s working interest is 25%.
Hidalgo Frio Project, Hidalgo County, Texas: the third well in the project, the SWGU # 38 is scheduled to be drilled to 12,000’ in April. The well will test deeper prospective sands in the main field. Activa’s working interest is 25%.
Barnett Shale, Jack County, Texas: Lewis Energy, the operator of the project was delayed in moving its company owned drilling rig to the project due to a legal commitment in South Texas. Activa has agreed to an extension with Lewis for the drilling of the evaluation wells. At present, the plan is to drill 2 evaluation wells in May. Activa’s working interest is 25%.
AKG-Tait, Colorado County, Texas: the 3D shoot has been completed and the initial evaluation has supported and confirmed the 3D leads that were the basis for the 3D seismic survey and project estimates. AKG expects to spud the first well in late April and follow with 2 additional wells shortly thereafter. Activa’s working interest is 15%.
Activa’s CEO Leigh A. Hooper adds: “Activa continues to make good progress with it’s drilling programmes and project development. The initial results of the Geneva and Broyles prospects are encouraging. While the Hinyard and Mongoose projects have not allowed immediate production, the wells have been important to gain the necessary geological knowledge in order to continue the programmes.
Activa continues to develop the Hidalgo Frio project and has been pleased by the production results to date. The delay in our Jack County Barnett Shale is not uncommon in the oil field today. Importantly, the Barnett Shale play continues to evolve and Activa is encouraged by the results in nearby counties on similar type acreage and EOG’s recent success in SE Jack County which is on trend with Activa’s acreage. Our strategic aim is now shifting towards taking more significant interests in larger projects. Several opportunities are currently being considered.”
