Oseberg C

StatoilHydro has awarded Aker Solutions an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract, or EPCI, for upgrading the drilling facilities on the Oseberg B platform, work worth 1.3 billion kroner ($204 million).

The job is seen extending the lifetime of Oseberg B and delving Aker Solutions into "an emerging market".

The contract covers upgrades of all drilling systems for wells of up to 9 000 metres for increased drilling regularity. The scope of work includes prefabrication and offshore installation of equipment, plus offshore completion and commissioning.
