Antrim Energy Inc. announces the initial testing results from the Antrim-operated East Causeway well 211/23d-17z (Antrim 65.5%) in the UK North Sea.

The well was drilled at a high angle and horizontally through the Middle Jurassic Brent Group of sandstones, intersecting several prospective reservoirs in the Ness and Tarbert Formations in two separate fault compartments.

The initial test was performed on a single zone in the westernmost of the two fault blocks. The tested zone flowed at multiple stabilized rates up to 7000 bopd. The oil is light sweet crude, 32 degrees API with a low gas oil ratio of approximately 100 scf/bbl.

No water was tested from the zone. Flow rate and pressure data from the test will now be analyzed to assess the full productivity and reserve potential of this single zone.

A second flow test will be performed on a separate zone in the next week and the results from that test will be announced upon completion.

The test interval reported here and the second reservoir interval due to be tested in this well do not include the combined intervals tested at rates up to 8100 bopd in the previously drilled and now suspended well 211/23b-11. These previously tested intervals were also intersected and logged in the horizontal section of the current well 211/23d-17z.
