Basker Manta production restored

Anzon Energy Ltd. has reported that its Australian business has begun drilling an appraisal well on the Basker field.

The Basker 6 ST1 well, a sidetrack 380 metres northeast of the vertical section of the No. 6 well, is being drilled by the semi-submersible rig Ocean Patriot. The rig had reached a well depth of 2,665 m 2008 by April 4th.

Basker 6 ST1 is a conventional low-angle well located in the south-eastern part of the Basker field and has both reservoir development and appraisal objectives.

Operator Anzon Australia, with 40 percent, is joined at Basker by Beach Petroleum Ltd. with 40 percent (until a pending farm out of 10 percent) and CIECO Exploration and Production, with 20 percent.
