DNV enters strategic agreement with CSEI-Spotlight
DNV has entered into a strategic agreement with the China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Centre (CSEI), and is now cooperating with the Chinese organisation to promote comprehensive risk based inspection planning and software services.
The agreement is part of DNV’s continued development of technical and commercial relationships with companies and organisations in China, according to Jens P. Tronskar, director of operations, DNV Technology Services in Asia and Pacific.
“Business opportunities in China are very good, particularly in the industrial sector. Our agreement with the CSEI enables DNV to provide risk based inspection and Orbit software sales to process-plant clients here in China,” explains Tronskar.

The agreement ended a process that has taken over a years consultation between CSEI and Zhang Li and Jens P. Tronskar of DNV Technology Services, and DNV Software’s Alice Feng.

“By introducing the concept of risk based inspection as a strategic tool for asset integrity management, DNV has established a leading position in this field in China,” commented Feng. “With our asset integrity management software systems, the partnership will have a sustainable competitive edge over our competitors.”

DNV is currently running four projects for SINOPEC, the largest Chinese oil and gas and petrochemical company with about 800,000 employees. “In addition to providing risk-related services for different SINOPEC subsidiaries, DNV also provides asset integrity management training for its managers,” says Tronskar.

“The lectures at the SINOPEC Institute of Management is a recognition of DNV as a leading international risk and integrity management company,” Tronskar concludes, “and also DNV’s contribution to the development of asset integrity management and risk management software.”
