Mainstay Marine’s offshore support vessel Porth Nefyn

Dometic Marine has supplied air-conditioning equipment for Mainstay Marine’s newly-launched 20m aluminium offshore support vessel Porth Nefyn.

Built for Holyhead Towing Company subsidiary Turbine Transfers, the new 12-passenger vessel has been fitted with two of Dometic’s Vector Compact Units (VCD) providing 54,000 BTUs of cooling and dehumidification. The VCD units will also provide heating in the event of main heating system failure.

The Dometic system has been installed to cool the wheelhouse and main deck area of Porth Nefyn which will be transporting turbine technicians as passengers. The vessel has been designed to work principally on offshore European wind farm sites anywhere between the Baltic and Irish Seas.

Developed for use in the harsh marine environment, the durable HVAC equipment is situated under the helm position to supply both the helm and main saloon from one location.
