Teesside fabrication and engineering specialists – Francis Brown Limited – has successfully secured over GBP 1 million worth of business in only a matter of a few weeks to deliver a series of projects to leading global companies.

Based in Stockton on Tees, the family run business has secured four new contracts over multiple sectors – including oil and gas, renewable energy and petrochemical – which are all scheduled to be completed by the end of the first quarter next year.

The awarded contracts – with both new and existing clients – will see projects managed from concept right through to final assembly, installation and inspection.

Speaking about the contract wins, Mark Roddy, Managing Director at Francis Brown says, “We are delighted with our recent contract wins which really demonstrate Francis Brown’s core ability to transfer our world class engineering and welding excellence across a diverse range of sectors to deliver our unique and tailored solutions.”

The company will deliver a new project to one of its existing clients, advanced global supplier of subsea equipment, SMD.

Roddy says, “Having worked very closely with SMD in recent months, we are delighted to have secured an additional contract and continue to build our relationship with the company. Repeat orders are true testament that Francis Brown delivers on what we promise; HSE, specification, schedule and within budget.”

One of the other contracts will see Francis Brown deliver its services to a leading oil and gas company in Aberdeen.

Roddy says, “Having seen a dip in contracts being awarded across the whole supply chain in the oil and gas sector, there are some signs the market is shifting positively, and as such, securing this contract highlights to Francis Brown that the future is promising in the sector with some investment starting to ripple through to tier two suppliers.”

Whilst securing work across many sectors, Francis Brown strongly believes, there is a wealth of upcoming opportunities for engineering and manufacturing businesses in the North East to secure work in the global offshore wind sector. As such, the company’s CEO and NOF Energy Board Member, Jamie Brown, flies the flag for the region to promote its abundance of capabilities that could be employed in recently announced wind energy projects.
