FMC Technologies to supply subsea systems for Shell’s Perdido project-Spotlight

Houston-based FMC Technologies, Inc. has won a StatoilHydro contract to build and install wellheads and production trees at the Peregrino project, a $30 million order offshore Brazil.

This first phase of work supports 30 production wells and seven injection wells with equipment from FMC's workshops in Rio de Janeiro. First deliveries in early 2010 start a build-up at the Campos Basin heavy oilfield expected to run three phases and include 60 wells.

The shallow-water Peregrino lies in 400 feet in Brazil's central license area, the Campos Basin.

Operator StatoilHydro, meanwhile, announced this week that three of its Brazil staff were lost when an Air France aircraft broke up over the Atlantic Ocean on their way from South America to Norway.
