Aberdeen-based Containental Offshore (Containental) has secured a series of container contracts with oil and gas operators across the globe – worth a combined total of more than £500,000.

Containental – which provides specialist offshore cargo-carrying units for the oil and gas industry and is part of the Offshore Container Holdings Ltd (OCHL) group of companies – has secured a number of deals in South America, the Asia Pacific region and West Africa in the last two months.

Among the contracts awarded is a major deal with Saipem UK to provide units for the Saipem 7000 – the world’s largest semi-submersible crane vessel. Containental has been contracted to provide 16 baskets and containers for use on-board the SSCV.

Meanwhile, Dolphin Drilling has awarded Containental a contract to supply a range of baskets and containers to the Borgny Dolphin drilling rig, offshore the Falkland Islands. Containental will also deliver tool-unit containers to both Geoservices and Integrated Subsea Services (ISS) for use in Singapore and the UK respectively.

Other recently awarded projects include providing units for Halliburton and Acergy for use in Australia and West Africa.

The deals also mark the latest stage in our plans to expand our global company presence.

“Our continued success across the globe has also been aided by the synergies that exist between OCHL’s subsidiaries. This was demonstrated by the deal that we secured with ISS to provide a tool room that will accompany an ROV cabin previously supplied by Containental’s sister company, Vertec Engineering.”
