UK-based Oil & Gas industry construction company Derrick Services (UK) Ltd (DSL) has declared the opening of two international bases and a number of significant contract wins in the last quarter, as it continues to implement its global strategy for growth.
DSL has opened an operations base in Algeria and has been awarded a contract worth $3million from CTF of Tunisia for the engineering and project planning for the decommissioning of the CTF Rig 05 from Platform 2. DSL has also won a contract with ENAFOR in Algeria for the inspection and recertification of their Land Drilling Rigs.
In South East Asia, DSL has opened new offices in Singapore and appointed a regional manager to oversee growth as the company responds to increasing demand for its services from established customers in the region.
The announcements come as DSL exhibit at this week’s EIConnect International Oil & Gas Supply Chain Event and Exhibition in Manchester.
With UK offices and operations established in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth, DSL expanded into the Middle East a year ago with a base in Abu Dhabi and announced the opening of the Algeria base earlier this month.
DSL managing director Mike Smith said: “Through establishing our presence in key strategic locations around the world we are ensuring that we are available to our clients at short notice, as is often the requirement. DSL has a reputation for retaining and building relationships with customers through engineering integrity, quality products and services, highly-skilled and experienced personnel and speed of response and flexibility.”
The contact award from CTF of Tunisia comes on the back of recent FEED studies carried out by DSL for the Operators Serept/OMV and decommissioning of the rig, including the mud systems, bulk storage and prime movers, and is expected to commence in December 2010.
Mr Smith continued: “Securing contracts in these locations enables DSL to perfectly demonstrate the full range of services that we have in house for supporting offshore construction projects. We have developed strong working relationships with CTF and Serept/OMV through previous projects and we are very excited about further strengthening those relationships on this project.”
