Devon gets approval for second Jackfish Oil Sands production project

Devon Energy Corporation has pledged $2 million to assist individuals and communities impacted by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.

"We are eager to lend our help alongside the many community agencies that assist hurricane victims along the Gulf Coast," said Larry Nichols, chairman and chief executive officer. "Community involvement is a core value at Devon and we are inspired by our employees and fellow citizens as they generously respond to natural disasters such as this."

Devon's employees are also making contributions to relief efforts through the Devon Energy Charitable Foundation. These contributions are assisting those Devon employees who lost their homes to the storms or who have been affected in other ways. In addition to the $2 million pledge, Devon is matching all cash contributions made by the company's employees to the foundation.
