DOF Subsea UK secures decommissioning contract with Hess

Aberdeen-based specialist subsea service company DOF Subsea UK has secured a contract with Hess to provide diver-less Decommissioning services from its new multipurpose support vessel, the Skandi Skansen in the Ivanhoe / Rob Roy Field, North Sea. The project will last for approximately 21 days and is scheduled to start in Q3 2011 and is worth approximately £5 million.

The scope of work includes a decommissioning program which involves the engineering and recovery of 4 Mid Water Arches, 8 Flexible Risers and associated structures and umbilical’s.

The award of this contract is a significant win for DOF Subsea UK and in-line with our strategy to develop our diver-less decommissioning capabilities. We are particularly pleased at securing work for our new vessel, the Skandi Skansen, our fourth Installer Class vessel to be delivered. This contract represents one of the first diver-less decommissioning projects in the North Sea and demonstrates DOF Subsea’s commitment to our ongoing expansion in the subsea engineering market.”

DOF Subsea provides Project Management, Engineering, Subsea Construction, IRM, Survey and ROV services. The company employs over 1,200 highly qualified staff and owns state of the art equipment including offshore construction, diving and ROV support vessels, ROVs, 1 AUV and diving spreads.
