Dragados Offshore successfully completes the Adriatic LNG project

Dragados Offshore has successfully completed the Adriatic LNG project, when the regasification terminal sailed away from the Algeciras Bay with destination the north of the Adriatic Sea. The Adriatic LNG project is the world's first offshore regasification terminal installed on a GBS (Gravity Based Structure).

Within this project, Dragados Offshore's scope of work was the modular fabrication of the regasification terminal and all auxiliary structures from its yard in Puerto Real, and integration of both the storage tanks and all modules on the GBS, inside the graving dock in Algeciras.

The total weight of the regasification terminal is about 15.000 tons, installed on top of the concrete base with a total weight of 300.000 tons. Both the lift off and sailaway from the Algeciras bay were completed with success, initiating the voyage of approximately 20 days. The final destination of the regasification terminal is located about 15 km offshore the coast of Venice.

Between the fabrication and integration scope of work, the project has spent some 6 million man hours, which were completed by Dragados Offshore without causing any serious incident.

With the completion of this project, Dragados Offshore has proven once more to be a world class fabricator and leader in the offshore construction market, while continuing to achieve milestones in the construction of singular and challenging projects in the offshore and natural gas industry.
