EFC Group-2

With orders in excess of £9.5m, a 90% uplift against EFC’s previous 12 month booking period, leading designer and manufacturer of Instrumentation, Monitoring, Controls and Handling Systems for the global oil and gas industry, EFC Group commenced 2011 with expansion into new headquarters to facilitate growth plans.

Bob Will, EFC Group managing director stated: “The move enables EFC to continue with a growth strategy as planned at the time of management buy-in, this includes an increase in production in response to industry demand - a marked increase has been visible in choke control, BOP control and well control package deliveries.”

The facilities include designated departmental office work spaces, a purpose built laboratory for its intrinsically safe gauge manufacture, custom designed engineering facilities, increased instrumentation and R&D workshops and a dedicated hydraulics warehouse with multiple hydraulic bays and pressure test area.

“Business has soared with a positive start to 2011 with several large contract orders. This marked increase means EFC Group is surpassing its financial targets and aims to increase it by another £4million this financial year.

“The growth also allows our Subsea Solutions division to forge ahead delivering BOP Control Systems ranging from API compliancy system upgrades, new direct hydraulic systems and deepwater MUX electro-hydraulic systems.”

EFC Group Mechanical Handling division has also re-located to new, bigger premises in Leeds to allow for significant development of this high growth area of the business.

Mr Will continues: “Plans are already firmly on track to further develop the Group, which remains a locally owned and headquartered company, but one that can keep pace with global demand for our products and services.

“The office move has enabled us to increase staff numbers significantly for an SME, having already risen from 62 staff at the beginning of last year, to 75 at the beginning of this year. EFC Group has plans for employee numbers to increase by at least a further 10 before the end of 2011.

“Two strategic appointments are that of Mark Shuttleworth as Mechanical Handling Product Specialist who will be based in Leeds and Ian Allan, Technical Sales Manager based in Aberdeen.”

Mr Allan, joins with a wealth of experience in Drilling Instrumentation, Monitoring and Controls systems and has been a pivotal part in supplying many BOP Control Systems, Ballast Systems and innovative Rack Phase Difference systems globally, said: “the motivation and aggressive growth plan of EFC Group and recent success attracted me and I'm very pleased to be part of an enthusiastic and strong team that are driven by client satisfaction and long-term sustainable growth.”
