EMC acquired General Industry Systems (GIS) AS, a Norwegian-based provider in energy and maritime connectivity services for offshore operations. The consolidated portfolio of products, services, experience, locations and engineers of the companies strengthens EMC’s energy and maritime business segments.

EMC’s fully managed connectivity services, global infrastructure of field support centers, teleports and satellite capacity, combined with GIS’s on-site systems integration projects, completes its full-suite of communications solutions for the industry. The addition of GIS’s support centers and technical teams broadens EMC’s presence in strategic Energy hubs worldwide with locations in Stavanger and Oslo, Norway; Singapore Aberdeen, Scotland; Houston, Texas; Abu Dhabi, UAE; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, West Africa, and London, UK.
