EnerMech has appointed Stuart Smith as UK Country Manager as the mechanical engineering company gears up for further growth.

Mr. Smith has more than 15 years experience in the offshore sector and joins from Tyco Fire & Integrated Solutions where he was general manager of its fire business. The new post strengthens EnerMech's management team and will free up Operations Director Phil Bentley to play a wider role in international operations.

EnerMech, the Aberdeen-based mechanical engineering group, has more the doubled in size in the past year, now employs 800 staff, and forecasts rapid growth across all its service lines in the UK and abroad over the next three years.

EnerMech managing director, Doug Duguid, said, "We have experienced tremendous growth over the past year across all the regions in which we operate. To manage the business more effectively we have appointed a UK Country Manager and Stuart's experience will add renewed vigor to the safety, operational and commercial management of our UK activities.

"These changes will allow Phil Bentley to play a wider role in our international operations which will be a focal point in growing turnover and expanding our brand and service lines in new territories."

Mr. Duguid said EnerMech will announce other key appointments in the weeks ahead, including a general manager for its valves division and a number of business line directors.

Stuart Smith said, "EnerMech is a dynamic leader in mechanical services and I am delighted to join them at a very exciting time in their evolution. The UK business has had a very strong year to date and I look forward to contributing to the company's impressive growth and success."
