Marulk Field

Eni Norge AS, as operator of the Marulk Field (Production Licenses 122/122B/122C/122D), has signed an agreement with StatoilHydro ASA to obtain assistance and technical support regarding specific phases of the Marulk Field Development Project.

"This is an important agreement for the Marulk license, and it is in compliance with the Norwegian Authorities' focus on cooperation and effective development solutions on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). This cooperation will secure a timely development of the Marulk resources and license by fully utilising the competence and the available capacity in the two companies", says Technical General Manager Arild Glæserud in Eni Norge AS.

According to the agreement, StatoilHydro will, on behalf of Eni Norge, be responsible for the Marulk subsea development and the maritime activities. StatoilHydro will also liaise with the Norne Group on tie-in activities and be responsible for the testing and commissioning phases.

Eni Norge, as operator of Marulk, will exercise all regulatory and partner communication, subsurface studies and drilling operations in addition to the overall project management and supervisory control.

Marulk is located approximately 21 km southwest of the Norne field at Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea. The Marulk development will give valuable additional resources and further strengthen Eni Norge's position on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). Eni Norge has interests in a number of exploration licences, fields under development and in operation on the NCS, including Ekofisk, Norne, Åsgard, Heidrun, Kristin, Mikkel, Urd, Morvin and Gamma.

Eni Norge is one of the largest operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Eni Norge was established in Norway in 1965, and has a daily production of approximately 140,000 barrels (of oil equivalents). Eni Norge is operator of 13 licences, including the Goliat field in the Barents Sea.

The licensees in Production Licences 122/122B/122C/122D (the Marulk Field) are: Eni Norge AS (operator) - 20%, StatoilHydro ASA - 50% and DONG E&P Norge AS - 30%.
