ESNAAD

ESNAAD, a wholly owned subsidiary of ADNOC Group, has opened its latest facility – a brine plant capable of producing 2,000 to 3,000 barrels per day to service the oil and gas facilities offshore Abu Dhabi.

ESNAAD’s brine plant was developed in technical partnership with a major international service company, ensuring the highest levels of quality and safety, while transferring technical expertise and knowledge to the company’s UAE National engineers, in line with ESNAAD’s strategic objectives to develop in-house technical capabilities.

The new brine plant produces various types of brine including sodium chloride and calcium chloride and also has the capacity to produce the heavier brines such as calcium bromide and sodium bromide. The plant also receives used brine for filtering, cleaning and treating before sending back to the rigs.

Darwish Al Qubaisi, General Manager of ESNAAD, says: “For the operating companies there are a number of benefits to outsourcing brine production as opposed to mixing it on the rigs: they can make significant savings on space and man-hours; safety issues are removed, and the final product is cleaner and more consistent as it has been produced under laboratory conditions in our plant.”
