Far East Energy Corporation

Far East Energy Corporation says that gas production in the Shouyang Block of Shanxi Province, China, has now risen to 500,000 cubic feet, or 500 Mcf per day. Previously, on November 30, Far East announced that gas production from the Shouyang Block had exceeded 400,000 cubic feet per day.

“This acceleration in gas production is not unexpected,” said Garry Ward, Senior Vice President of Engineering, “but the rapidity of the increase is a surprise, and a pleasant one.”

Far East does note that, as in any oil and gas exploration activity, certain events such as normal fluctuations in gas flow, wells being taken offline for workovers, etcetera, could cause reductions in the amount of gas being produced.
