Ferguson Modular - COO

Ferguson Modular has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer to lead its Accommodation Support Vessel (ASV) division.

The company, part of the international Ferguson Group, is investing £25million in its first accommodation support vessel. It is currently being outfitted and it is anticipated the vessel will be available for projects from June 2010.

The new division is seen as a logical extension to the flexible accommodation solutions offered by Ferguson Modular, which also has a range of accommodation complexes and work space units available for rental. The company plans to gradually build up a fleet of similar ASVs suitable for energy industry operations in any global location.

Graham Cowperthwaite, who has many years’ experience in senior roles managing energy industry facilities on and offshore for companies including KCA Deutag Drilling and OIS International, took up the helm at Ferguson Modular’s Inverurie based ASV division on March 1.

Ferguson Modular Chairman Mike Salter welcomed the appointment, saying Mr Cowperthwaite’s vast experience would help reinforce the future growth ambitions of the group.

“Graham has joined at a very exciting period for Ferguson Modular and the ASV division as we continue to invest heavily as part of our ongoing, ambitious international growth strategy.’’ said Mr Salter.

Mr Cowperthwaite said: “I am looking forward very much to working with such an ambitious company with an excellent reputation for high-quality products and service. The ASV division is a major development for the offshore market and we believe this flexible accommodation solution will be extremely attractive to existing and potential clients.’’
