The Ferguson Group have developed a series of NORSOK R-0002 models, classified for Zone 2 hazardous area rental.

In challenging offshore environments, the lack of space coupled with tight time schedules, means that hook up has to be at a minimum. The modules have been constructed so they can be stacked and interlocked quickly and easily, with the minimum of personnel required.

The modules themselves are very well built, fire rated A60 and has ISO corner casting. They come in three sizes, a compact 4m, an intermediate 4.8 m and the spacious 6m.

They have been fitted with a Cisco Layer 2 POE data switch, encompassing x2 Gigabit, LC, multi-mode small form-factor pluggable (SFP) optical transceivers. This allows connection of an OM1 fibre of up to 220m and ensures that both fibre optic and Cat 6a Ethernet data optically isolated within the module during alarm conditions.
