Fortis appoints CEO of Energy, Commodities and Transportation

Harris Antoniou succeeds Frans van Lanschot, who has been appointed CEO of Specialised Finance within Fortis.

Harris was previously Managing Director of Fortis’s Transportation Group, after having held the position of Managing Director of the Global Shipping Group. Prior to that he managed Fortis’s representative office in Greece for a period of six years. He is a graduate of Piraeus University (Greece) and holder of an MBA from Erasmus University in the Netherlands, and has completed the General Management Program of Harvard Business School.

Energy, Commodities & Transportation (ECT) is a high-growth business line within Merchant Banking, offering integrated financial solutions to international companies operating in and across the respective sectors.

Under Harris’s leadership, the management team of ECT, supported by more than 500 professionals in 23 offices worldwide, will continue to grow client relationships, optimise performance and expand their product and service offering globally.
