Nancy E. Bowers, Ph.D., a licensed geoscientist and published author, has joined Fugro Gravity & Magnetic Services (FGMS) as Senior Geophysicist, FGMS President Emily Farquhar announced.
Based in Houston, Bowers will be responsible for gravity and magnetic data sales. She also will provide technical expertise for the FGMS sales and marketing departments.
Prior to joining FGMS, Bowers owned and operated Subsurface Interpretation Services LLC, where she provided geological and geophysical interpretation and data quality control services to oil and gas exploration companies. She has additional experience analyzing offshore deltas and sub-salt and sub-basalt plays, and has collected offshore data from Brazil, Spain, Nigeria, India, the Gulf of Mexico, Norway, Greenland and the Red Sea.

Bowers began her career as a research assistant and instructor at the University of Wisconsin; the College of William and Mary, the University of California, San Diego; and the University of Wyoming.
Bowers earned her doctorate in Earth Sciences from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego. Additionally, she holds a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Wyoming and a Bachelor of Science in Geological Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Washington.
She is the author of more than 10 research papers and the past recipient of the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) Chrysalis Scholarship. She has received a Geological Society of America (GSA) research grant, an Amoco Oil Company research grant and a Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES) scholarship.
Bowers is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), American Geophysical Union (AGU), Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists (TBPG), GSA and AWG.
