FX Energy reports successful drill stem test of Karmin-1

Published Oct 1, 2014
FX Energy, Inc.

FX Energy, Inc. reported that 25 meters of Rotliegend core have been extracted from the Karmin-1 well from a depth of 2,466 meters to 2,491 meters. The core samples show gas saturated Rotliegend sandstone with good reservoir properties on visual examination. A drill stem test of the 25 meter interval yielded gas with no observable water at rates between 3.3 million and 5.8 million cubic feet per day (Mmcf/d).

The Karmin-1 well now will be drilled to final depth, logged and completed, after which a production test will be conducted. The production test, well logs and core analysis will form the basis for estimates of the gas-water contact, vertical extent of the reservoir, reservoir properties, recoverable reserves and production rate, all of which will help determine commerciality. If commercial, Karmin-1 could be in production by year-end 2015.
