GAC has underlined its commitment to Europe by expanding its regional Shipping Marketing team with the appointment of Niko Steindamm. As Marketing Manager, Shipping, based in Bremen, Germany, Steindamm will promote GAC's global shipping and related services to the maritime and commodity/trading communities in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Prior to joining GAC, Steindamm worked in sales and operations for a large container line in Germany, and for a ro-ro owner/operator specialising in project movements throughout the Baltic region.

At the same time, Capt. Tom Bjorklund has also joined GAC’s Shipping Marketing team in Europe and will be based in Stockholm. Previously based in Dubai as Director of GAC’s Global Hub Services, he has been appointed as Marketing Manager, Shipping, responsible for Scandinavia, Iceland, Belarus and the Baltic, with effect from 1 August 2011. Peter Osterman, the Marketing Manager previously based in Stockholm, takes over as Director, Global Hub Services in Dubai.

Steindamm and Bjorklund join Neil Godfrey and Sami Younis in the UK, Nikos Marmatsouris & Maria Angelidou in Greece and Simon Heywood in Portugal – GAC’s Shipping Marketing team of dedicated professionals providing comprehensive coverage of the entire European region.
