Greene’s Energy Group (GEG) has acquired the assets of Guardian Wellhead Services, Inc., Guardian Pipe & Rentals, LLC, and the legal entity of Guardian WP, LLC, GEG Chief Executive Officer Bob Vilyus announced.
Guardian, founded by Murray Erickson in 1993, is headquartered in Odessa, Texas. Erickson, an expert in casing and tree saver design and a well-respected industry entrepreneur, will remain with the company as a special projects consultant. Guardian and its affiliates offer casing and tree saver services, well testing and flowback services, oilfield rental equipment and other well intervention support. In addition, Guardian has a machine shop that manufactures custom equipment.
The acquisition will establish two new GEG divisions and increase GEG’s presence to 35 locations in the United States. Guardian Wellhead Protection & Rentals, headquartered in Odessa, Texas, and managed by Adam Doyle, will offer casing and tree saver services and a wide variety of well intervention rental equipment. Doyle has a great team that focuses on customer service and a significant asset base so that it can react quickly to customer needs. Greene’s Well Testing Services, located in Alice, Texas, and managed by Randy Winters, will offer well testing and flowback services. Winters, a known industry expert on well testing and flowback, has built a best-in-class business, offering these services primarily in the Eagle Ford and adjacent basins. The two new divisions will report to Frank Mathews, President of Greene’s Rentals and Products Business Unit.
Acquired assets include flowback and well testing equipment, frac headers, frac manifolds, associated frac piping and wellhead valves, on-site man lifts, tubing, tubing BOPs, light plants and 10 locations throughout West Texas, South Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Guardian locations currently service customers in the Permian, Avalon, Woodford, Granite Wash, Barnett, Haynesville, Eagle Ford and other South Texas basins.
“The Guardian group of companies has established a reputation of respect among clients. The new divisions are cohesive with Greene’s services and rentals and will allow Greene’s to better connect with our customers for the full breadth of services we will now offer,” said Vilyus. “Our customers can expect us to invest further in the expertise and equipment that Guardian offers to the industry, expanding the reach of these services.
“We are extremely pleased that a company the caliber of Greene’s Energy Group saw the success of Guardian and recognized how they could take our business offerings to the next level and beyond with the process and functional strength of Greene’s and the service expertise that we possess,” said Erickson.
