Tahiti ll platform

Grenland Group reported that a Minox unit left the Petrex yard outside New Orleans on Dec. 20. The unit shall treat the injection water on Chevrons Tahiti ll platform in Gulf of Mexico. It shall be installed on an existing platform, and will be put in operation during summer 2011.

The Minox unit having a treatment capacity of 100,000 bwpd, is a 2-stage compact system and our second delivery to Chevron.

Project Manager, Tor Friis, is satisfied seeing the Minox unit leaving the yard. He emphasizes the excellent cooperation with Chevron, Mustang Engineering and Petrex during the project execution.

Minox is a system to deoxygenate injection water in order to both prevent corrosion in pipes and equipment, and to inhibit growth of bacteria in oil reservoir. More than 30 Minox systems have been delivered to the international oil industry.
