Grenland Group

Grenland Group has signed a frame agreement with Aibel for fabrication and outfitting work for petroleum projects offshore and onshore. Work has already started on equipment for the Ekofisk and Snøhvit projects.

"This is a very important agreement for us, that already engages 40 to 50 people in our yard at Karmøy," said yard manager Jan Robert Olsen at Grenland Group.

One task is outfitting and surface treatment of two stairway towers for ConocoPhillips' Ekofisk field as part of the Greater Ekofisk Modifications project. Another task is the construction of five valve platforms with pipes and equipment from 15-50 tons, two pipe support towers and several pipe supports - totaling up to 150 tons – for Snøhvit, StatoilHydro's gas prosessing plant at Melkøya in Northern Norway.

Grenland Group's agreement is tied into Aibel's Maintenance & Modifications contracts, and is initially for 2009, but is likely to continue. The contract value is estimated to NOK 20 million per year.
