Guildhall Minerals Ltd., Operating as Edge Resources, announced that the Company has been granted drilling licenses for its two new Edmonton Sands wells. Additionally, the Company has obtained the services of an active drilling rig, which is expected to move to the first of the two locations later this week, weather permitting. The Company has served its partners with Independent Operations Notices in connection with the commencement of its anticipated two-well drilling program. The Company continues to seek additional drilling opportunities and licenses for new locations.
The Company's two-well drilling program consists of one well per section, on two sections, to be drilled conventionally and vertically to approximately 1,000 meters, targeting multiple zones in each wellbore. The multiple zone targets are all within the Edmonton Sands group of formations. Due to extensive well control and multiple zone targets, Edmonton Sands wells have a historically high drilling success rate.
The Company's President & CEO Brad Nichol commented, "We are pleased to have secured one of the few rigs in Alberta that has worked since breakup, which will ensure we have a warm, experienced crew and top-notch equipment. We have used these 'Super-Single Automatic Drilling Rigs (ADR)' in the past and the combination of experienced crews with efficient equipment has proven to be a big success on these shallow wells. Additionally, we anticipate taking advantage of drastically decreased rates for services compared to only a few months ago. We continue to negotiate with other companies to add to our existing drilling program and increase our working interest positions on the current program."
