Maritime recruitment specialist Halcyon Recruitment has announced the appointment of Danni Devine as its new Operations Director. The move is part of Halcyon’s continuing growth in the UK and Singapore.

Devine is a senior management recruitment professional with over 10 years’ experience within the maritime sector, and will be working with Halcyon’s UK team to further expand and continue the sustained growth of the company.

During her career Devine has delivered commercial and technical recruitment projects for clients across the globe, placing maritime specialists at every level from graduate through to senior management.

Welcoming Danni’s appointment, Heidi Heseltine, Managing Director of Halcyon Recruitment says, “Danni’s involvement in projects across the entire shipping lifecycle from design, new build, shipping support services, technical and commercial activities allows her to draw on her extensive expertise to provide clients with advice and guidance around recruitment strategy and market conditions in this very specialist market.”

“Danni’s addition to the team supports our ongoing international expansion. In Singapore, Juliet Kasko joined us earlier this year supporting our specialism in commercial recruitment, alongside our technical and operations divisions. Juliet is experienced in recruiting within the commercial, port and logistics sectors, predominantly at senior management level. Earlier in her career, Juliet worked for Maersk and CMA-CGM in account management and commercial development,” continues Heseltine.

At this current time of uncertainty for the shipping markets, with depressed freight rates and further difficulties potentially facing the maritime sector in the wake of “Brexit”, Heseltine adds, “The shipping industry is undergoing a period of change, and Brexit could cause issues for recruitment of maritime specialists in the UK if there is no longer the free movement of workers. At Halcyon we will continue to provide our expertise to our clients and candidates, advising them of any developments in the future.”
