Anadarko Petroleum Corporation has been awarded the Processing Partner of the Year by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its efforts to protect the environment and reduce emissions through the voluntary Natural Gas STAR program. In addition, the company will be recognized with the Seven-Year Continuing Excellence Award.
"This is excellent recognition for our employees and a clear demonstration of our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting the environment across all our operations," said David McBride, Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety, Anadarko E&P USA, Inc. "We have participated in the Natural Gas STAR program for more than a decade and, during that time, the cumulative reductions we've achieved in greenhouse gas emissions are equivalent to the annual emissions of nearly 3.4 million cars. We're proud of our environmental record, our commitment to continuously strive for further enhancements and our long-standing partnership with the Natural Gas STAR program."
The Natural Gas STAR Processing Partner of the Year Award is presented in recognition of a company's normalized emission reductions for the prior reporting year. In Anadarko's case, these emissions reductions were achieved through the implementation of a variety of Natural Gas STAR technologies including the installation of flash tank separators on glycol dehydrators, the redesign of several emergency procedures and the installation of electric compressor engines.
