Hurricane Exploration says that all shareholder resolutions were unanimously passed at its Annual General Meeting held on Friday 14 January.
In addition, Dr Robert Trice, Chief Executive of Hurricane, confirmed during the presentation to shareholders that although operational conditions during drilling activities on Whirlwind had not permitted an oil sample to be obtained during wireline testing, recent geochemical analysis of the drill cuttings and sidewall cores indicate the potential presence of a 270m TVT gross oil column over the penetrated limestone and basement interval.
This recent analysis is clearly positive news for Whirlwind and validates Hurricane's decision to suspend the well. However, it will not be possible to evaluate the reservoir potential of Whirlwind until the well is reentered and tested.
