Ikon Science expanded the RokDoc External Interface module with the inclusion of a Python API as part of the release of the latest 6.3 version of its flagship RokDoc® platform

Advanced users of RokDoc's extensive rock physics, inversions, geomechanics and many other capabilities expressed the need to add new rock models and new methods for specific project goals or reservoir types. To deliver on that request, Python, an interpreted, object-oriented high-level programming language popular in our industry, is now supported in RokDoc.

Plugin applications and rock models can run natively in Python, without the need for additional compilation steps or the writing of C wrappers. RokDoc provides a Python API and some utility classes as part of the RokDoc External Interface module. This can also be used to develop proprietary links to in-house software tools or data management systems.
