Index Marine, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of marine electrical installation equipment, has achieved the highest level of BS standard ingress protection for its new range of Index Marine DG deck glands which are designed for cable and pipe transits on all types of vessel.

There are a number of levels of protection awarded by the British Standard BS EN 60529:1992 with the DG range achieving the maximum at IP68. This standard certifies the level of dust and watertight protection that the gland offers, providing the user with the confidence that the electrical installation is fully protected.

The new Index Marine DG range is a development of the original, well respected, Index Marine fittings and is now available in UV stable nylon, marine grade anodised aluminium and polished 316 stainless steel. The deck glands have been designed to be easy to fit and do not therefore require the removal of fitted connectors during installation.
