InterMoor’s recent permanent mooring project in the South China Sea, involving the upgrade and relocation of the Lufeng FSOU mooring system, will be one of the highlights of the Offshore Asia exhibition on March 7, 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Shaik Yaseen Baba, a senior naval architect and engineering team leader in InterMoor’s Singapore office, will present on the project at Offshore Asia’s first session covering floating production systems. The presentation will cover InterMoor’s work scope for the permanent mooring project in the Lufeng oilfield, South China Sea. The scope of work includes the provision of anchors, ground chain and excursion chain during the pre-lay stage; the provision of Nanhai Sheng Kai (NHSK) floating storage and offloading unit (FSOU) buoy hook-up, dip-zone chain and riser JSS wire during the hook-up stage; the installation of 8-inch static flow line and an 8-inch dynamic riser between the LF 13-2 platform and the NHSK buoy; and the provision of a guide frame and gravity base for the mid-water arch.

“We are proud to announce that Shaik will speak on InterMoor’s behalf at the convention,” said InterMoor Pte Ltd operations director Martin Kobiela. “His knowledge of the Lufeng mooring project in the South China Sea is extensive as it stems from his integral role in monitoring installation procedures, and it is an honour to have him present for InterMoor.”
