Keppel Shipyard in Singapore and Black & Veatch in the USA have recently awarded Kongsberg Maritime an order for the delivery of an Electrical package and Safety and Automation System. The delivery is for Golar LNG’s conversion of the ex-LNG Carrier Golar Hilli to an FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas production unit).

Kongsberg Maritime’s technology will be the back bone of the Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) for the new FLNG. In addition to field proven automation and control products, Kongsberg Maritime will participate with integrated engineering services to the various main contractors, and support installation and commissioning of the delivered systems.

Kongsberg Maritime Engineering will supply the Electrical package including High & Low Voltage distribution boards and transformers. In addition, design and philosophy documents, and electrical analysis will be engineered by Kongsberg Maritime.

The order demonstrates Kongsberg Maritime’s strong capabilities and its leading position within topside and marine automation for offshore Oil & Gas production units, reflected in the market through significant contract wins. It also demonstrates its capabilities within the total LNG value chain.
