Lukoil recruits local personnel in Iraq

LUKOIL Mid-East Ltd, an operating company of LUKOIL, started recruiting local personnel for work on West Qurna-2 field located in the Madeina district of the Basra province in the south of Iraq.

By now the first stage of selection has been completed which involved young people of Madeina with higher and specialized secondary education. The selection was held for workers' and engineering professions. The contest consisted of the two main stages: interview and professional competence and English test. Out of almost 300 candidates 34 specialists were selected as a result of the contest, and 46 more well be interviewed shortly.

The next stage of the contest will be held in the beginning of May 2011. The selected candidates will undergo 15-month professional training, including 6-month English language courses. Scholarship will be paid to students during the training period. At the end of the training the successful graduates will be hired to work for the operating company. Over the next year and a half the company plans to employ 500 Iraqi specialists, including 350 people this year.
