Lundin report completion of Geitungen exploration well

Lundin Petroleum spuds Nemo appraisal well, offshore norway

Lundin Petroleum AB's wholly owned subsidiary Lundin Norway AS report that Statoil Petroleum AS has commenced the drilling of exploration well 16/2-12 targeting the Geitungen structure.

The well is located in licence PL265, between the Johan Sverdrup discovery and the 16/2-9S Aldous Major North discovery in the Norwegian North Sea.

The main objective of the well 16/2-12 is to prove the presence of oil bearing Jurassic sandstones similar to the Johan Sverdrup discovery.
