MB Air Systems is preparing to take delivery of some of the most sophisticated winches in the world after investing in more than $500,000 (USD) of new equipment for the North Sea market.

The Aberdeen-based specialist has placed the order with manufacturer Ingersoll Rand, a leader in material handling equipment, and will add the equipment to its sale and rental inventory before the end of the year.

The firm has secured 10 of Ingersoll Rand’s MR150 Man Rider winches following their global launch, with the units designed specifically for the lifting and lowering of people in harsh environments. Used extensively offshore for access in repair and maintenance operations, the Ingersoll Rand Man Rider series of winches has been used extensively on North Sea platforms.
