ESR Technology has appointed Dr John Evans as General Manager of its Aberdeen operations.

John will be responsible for leading and managing the company's Aberdeen oil and gas team and growing revenues in line with the company's ambitious development plans for the North Sea region.

Bringing with him almost twenty years of safety and risk management experience, John joins ESR Technology from Germanischer Lloyd where he worked as a Principal Consultant. Prior to this he spent 15 years with Advantica in a variety of senior consultancy and project management roles within the safety and risk team. During his career he has managed Advantica's Spadeadam Test Site and has managed several high-profile joint-industry projects including fire and gas explosion studies for offshore facilities and pipeline failure tests.

John has in-depth experience of risk assessments, safety management systems and safety cases and has led over twenty investigations into fire and explosion incidents both in the UK and around the world.

John replaces Martyn Foote who is soon to head-up ESR Technology's Middle Eastern operations.
